Please read carefully to ensure you meet both the show system and Indiana state identification requirements for the event.

Exhibition

AOA Requirements

Veterinarians at the National Show will verify each alpaca's identification using a microchip or an official USDA-approved ear tag embedded with a microchip, along with all CVI requirements listed in the AOA Show System Handbook.

Animals will only be admitted to the National Show if they meet the following conditions:
  • All alpacas must be in good physical condition, properly identified with a microchip, and free of any visible signs of infectious, contagious, or parasitic diseases upon arrival. Evidence of such diseases or failure to provide the required health certification, vaccination, or testing documents will result in the rejection of the alpaca. The onsite veterinarian’s decision is final.
  • Each alpaca must have a microchip with its number and location recorded on the Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) (Health Papers). Veterinarians will verify this before entry. Please ensure your alpaca's microchip is functional before transport. If the microchip is unreadable upon arrival, the alpaca will not be allowed to stay unless the onsite veterinarian inserts a new microchip at the exhibitor's expense and provides the necessary documentation.
  • A valid CVI issued within 30 days of the last day of the show (March 15, 2026) MUST accompany all alpacas attending the AOA National Show. Health Certificates will be verified upon arrival. The alpaca’s registry number, name, microchip number, microchip location, and “negative” or “not detected” results for BVDV using the PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) method test must be included on the CVI along with the date of the test and lab name. VI method will be accepted if testing was completed prior to January 1, 2010.

Bring a copy of the CVI for the permanent record.
