Elizabeth Bernard aka “Buffy” and her husband Jeffrey along with their five children, two sons-in-law and granddaughter live in Southern Illinois. Jeffrey farms while Elizabeth is a bookkeeper at a local grade school. They have raised a variety of livestock including hogs, cattle, goats, sheep and various birds.

Surprised by her husband, Elizabeth’s alpaca journey started with four alpacas in December of 2013. Wanting to create her own yarn, beautiful fiber products and share her alpacas with the public, she and her family opened their century old farm to the public for National Alpaca Farm Days for the first time in 2019.

In July 2020 she completed the Basic Sorting Grading Class with Winnie Labrecque in Kellyville, Oklahoma. In September 2021 she attended the Total Immersion Fleece Academy in St. Louis, Missouri. With a passion for the industry she has been volunteering at various shows for several years and began working with Judy Schroeder when she became interested in becoming a Show Superintendent.

In August 2021 she completed the Superintendent Summit Certification Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, with Judy Schroeder and Margie Ault.
