Dear AOA Members,

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Jerry Forstner on July 16, 2024.

Jerry, along with his wife, Libby, was instrumental in setting the course for the alpaca industry, running the successful Magical Farms. He loved attending shows and being with people in the alpaca community.

Jerry was dedicated to moving forward the alpaca industry and dedicated his time and energy through service to the national alpaca organization. He served on the Alpaca Owners & Breeders Association Board as treasurer from 2003–2008. He then served on the Judge Training and Certification Committee (JTCC) for AOA from 2014–2021. In 2023, Jerry continued his service and became an inaugural supporter of the Dawn Stewart Memorial Scholarship, and a Founders Club member of the National Alpaca Foundation.

A giant in the industry, his passion was mentoring new owners and he did so with great enthusiasm and success.
