Open to all and designed for both new and seasoned alpaca enthusiasts. Our webinar series features exceptional presenters and exciting topics, all focusing on the role that environment, nutrition, and genetics play in the health and well-being of alpacas and their effect on fiber and fiber end products. Come join us on the weekends of February 18th and 25th via the Zoom Platform to learn more about The Total Alpaca. Our presenters include: • Dr. Nancy Irlbeck - a WSU Professor and all-around expert on small ruminant and camelid nutrition, management, and all things fiber. • Lynn Edens operates the Snowmass and Accoyo America Huacaya breeding operations. She is particularly focused on helping improve breeders’ genotypic selection methods. • Ian Watt has been in the alpaca industry for over 30 years. He enjoys discussing why we have alpacas and how to maximize fiber production and sales simply because it is All About the Fiber! • Candace Van Hout wears many hats; alpaca breeder, fiber mill operator, and retail store owner. One of her favorite things to do is to work with mill clients. Cost: PNAA members - free! Non-members - $100 for all four sessions, including membership to PNAA (membership through the end of our fiscal year, July 31, 2023) All seminars will be presented via the zoom platform. Pre-registration is required by February 16, 2023, to receive the zoom link and access to the seminars. Each presentation will be recorded, and access to the recordings will be available to all registered participants.

The Suri Network Winter Symposium will be held February 23-24, 2023 at the Vee Quiva Hotel & Casino in the sunny Phoenix, Arizona area. This day and a half conference is themed: “Enriching Your Breeding Program” with expert speakers focusing on how you can improve your alpaca herd for maximum gain. Our speakers include: • The internationally renowned Amanda VandenBosch will present topics including: 1). How to measure and improve your herd uniformity; 2). Using IFA to make good breeding decisions; and 3). How to evaluate the perfect alpaca to add to your herd. • Beverly Brehm, nationally known Suri breeder and AOA judge, will present: 1). How to improve your program using skin biopsy information and 2). A deep dive into biopsies. Beverly will be joined by Amanda VandenBosch in Part 2 to discuss their personal experience in analyzing their biopsy data and using biopsy data to improve their breeding programs. • Dr. Ruthanne McCaslin will present various alpaca health topics that impact your herd health and fiber quality. Dr. Ruthanne is well known in the camelid vet world as an expert on alpaca health issues.
