Renewals are in Full Swing for 2018

You can see how much AOA is working for our members by reviewing 2017. In April we provided a swift response when a US Senator attacked the alpaca industry. Because of the quick action from AOA, the alpaca industry was strong and unified to those outside the industry. By contacting your representatives and the Senator’s office received multiple calls, emails, mail, and visits, the industry was stronger than ever.

In the past year, AOA worked on ad campaigns promoting fiber, including our featured ad FEEL THE DIFFERENCE in the USA Today: U.S. Department of Agriculture Special Edition, which can be used by all members in their marketing efforts to help promote their business. Our second campaign in 2017 was the alpaca segment featuring AOA on the American Farmer television show on RFD-TV. This segment was shown on American Farmer in November and December, and will air one more time during the first quarter of 2018. The American Farmer feature reached over 60 million households, and we will be producing a 30-second commercial to be shown on network television. AOA will also be using the RFD-TV footage to create our own marketing campaign throughout the coming year, and providing those campaigns to you, our members for use however you choose.

The two national shows that AOA puts on each year are becoming more and more popular not only within the industry but also with the public. This can be seen in the attendance at our National Show that was held in Denver in March of 2017. The National Show drew thousands of attendees over its three-day run. This was the most attended show is AOA history. Over the course of 2017, the earned media attributed to AOA, including interviews with radio, television, and others topped $500,000 for the alpaca industry.

2018 is going to be another important year for AOA. This year we are re-branding the fleece event in July. The Natural Fiber Extravaganza: Powered by Alpaca Owners Association is going to be held in Nashville, Tennessee July 13–15, 2018. We are working to create an event focusing on the fiber aspect of the alpaca industry, and one promoting the businesses within the alpaca industry. We will have numerous opportunities for vendors to come and sell their products to the public.

Your membership investment is continually working for you. As a valued member of AOA you will continue to receive access to resources that help your farm, the backing of an organization to promote the industry on a national level and the knowledge that we are continuing the advancement of scientific research to help with pedigree validation. To continue all of this work we will need your continued investment in AOA. There is strength in unity and numbers. When all in the industry are supporting the national association the entire alpaca industry is stronger.

Thank you for your continued support!! Because of you, we are able to help grow the alpaca industry into the success it can be!!
