AOA Fleece Auction
Are you looking to sell your high-quality alpaca fleeces? Look no further! Our upcoming auction provides a unique opportunity for alpaca owners to showcase their prized fleeces and connect with potential buyers from all over.
This is not just any auction — it's a chance to showcase your hard work and dedication to producing exceptional alpaca fiber. Our buyers know what they're looking for and are willing to pay for the best of the best. So, whether you're a seasoned alpaca breeder or a new owner, this auction is for you.
The auction will accept 30 fleeces on a first come first reserved basis.
Auction Requirements
- Must have received a score of 80 or above in any AOA Certified Show from 2022–2023
- Owner must provide a copy of the scorecard
- Owner must provide high-quality fleece photo(s)
Upon receiving approval for your fleece, you will receive directions on how to submit your fleece. Mail-in fleeces must arrive by July 1, 2023. The address will be provided once the fleece is accepted. Fleeces can also be dropped off at the Boone County Cooperative Extension on Wednesday, July 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Ninety percent of the sale will go to the seller and ten percent to AOA.
Fleeces will be on display during the NEFC weekend. The auction will have online bidding. Each fleece will be promoted on Facebook. Bidding will close at 10:00 a.m. EDT on Sunday, July 16. Winning bidders will be notified and payment made by cash or credit card at that time. The winning buyer can pick up their fleece at the show or pay a fee of $15 shipping fee.
