Dear AOA Members,

It is with regret that we announce the resignation of AOA President, Shauna Brummet, effective immediately.

Shauna entered the alpaca business in 1996 and two years later joined the Alpaca Research Foundation (ARF) board, followed by the Alpaca Registry Inc (ARI) and Alpaca Owners Association (AOA) boards.

Among Shauna’s many accomplishments as an ARI and ARF board member and AOA President, are her work on alpaca parentage validation, establishing the EPD program, strategic planning, and assisting in getting the Breed Standards adopted. Shauna was also the recipient of the prestigious James G. King award in 2017.

We thank Shauna for her service to Alpaca Owners Association and to the alpaca industry as a whole. We wish her only the very best in her future endeavors.

In accordance with AOA Bylaw 5.3 and in an effort to continue the positive work without interruption that AOA is doing, the Board has appointed Jennifer Hack as President. Jennifer will serve the remaining six-month term. Upon appointment, Jennifer said, "I am honored to be elected by my fellow board members to fill the role of AOA President for the remaining six months. I can promise our members that we, as a board, will work hard to further, not only Alpaca Owners Association, but the alpaca industry as a whole."
As Jennifer steps into the President’s role, the office of Vice-President will be filled by Wendy Dittbrenner.

The Board will appoint a new member to fill the director vacancy at its January 25 meeting.

Sincerely,
The AOA Board of Directors
